Our Story

Logo of a woodworking company named Brittania Woodworking Company Ltd.

Founded in 1994 by Mark Dale and Martin Hubbard, Britannia Woodworking has grown from a small local workshop into a trusted name within the construction industry, serving private customers and construction companies alike. Built on the values of traditional craftsmanship, modern design, reliability, and attention to detail, we’re proud of our roots –and even prouder of what we’ve become.

After sadly losing Martin to ill health, Mark continued to lead the business alongside his wife, Dawn, with the same dedication and passion that built its foundation. Today, Britannia remains a family-run company, with Mark’s son Ryan and daughter Gemma stepping into the next generation of the business. Together, with a strong team of excellent staff we continue to evolve while staying true to the values that have shaped us from the start.

We operate from our workshop in Dove Holes near Buxton, serving customers across the UK, with our main customer base in Derbyshire, Cheshire, and Staffordshire. What sets us apart is our ability to take on a wide range of specialist projects—no matter the size. From a single bespoke window to large-scale commercial works, we provide expert guidance, friendly service, and a commitment to building regulations and compliance every step of the way.

In 2017, we expanded our workshop with the construction of a purpose-built spray shop. This addition allows us to provide a high-quality spray finish to all our joinery products, ensuring a consistent, durable, and professional result every time.

We’re also proud to be:

  • FENSA registered installers

  • Accoya® approved timber manufacturers

These accreditations mean we can offer our clients products that meet the highest standards of energy efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.

Testimonials

  • Britannia just supplied and fitted seven, hardwood sash windows and a pair of French doors for us. All of them made to a high standard and the fitters were very polite, considerate and tidied up nicely. Very pleased. I recommend them: they do things properly.

  • Hi Mark. Reece and Ryan have been and installed the secondary glazing. I just wanted to say how impressed i am with them. They have been methodical, polite friendly and courteous. They have got on with the job (and worked around us), they have cleaned up after themselves and left the place clean and tidy. I appreciate people are quick to criticise so i just wanted to tell you how impressed i am with them and the whole service we have had from Britannia
